Risks of hot work

It is important to know the risks for hot work (such as grinding, welding, sawing / cutting) with products that are painted with polyurethane paint.

When heated above 200 °, dangerous amounts of isocyanates can be released, making special personal protective equipment and well-functioning ventilation in the workplace a compulsory requirement at all times. All work on isocyanates is regulated by the National Occupational Safety and Health Directive.
